How to Customize Your iPhone's Lock Screen using Widgy
It's typically Apple's way or the highway. Today we take the highway...
In Part 2 of my Ultimate Lock Screen series, let’s delve into an incredibly powerful app called Widgy.
Instead of just displaying the date at the top of my lock screen, I used Widgy to display the date AND the current weather conditions, AND it’s interactive now: if I tap anywhere up there, it’ll launch my Calendar app.
And just below the main clock display, I’ve gone from Apple’s measly 4 slots to a whopping 12+ buttons that not only launch my favorite apps, but also launch menu overlays, where I can jump to specific notes on my phone, as well as start playing specific YouTube and Spotify playlists.
But that’s just how I’ve decided to build mine. In this tutorial I’ll walk you through how to use Widgy to custom-build whatever you want. The sky’s the limit!
Btw, I’m officially launching a new project very soon… it’s gonna be a purely FUN one (not instructional/informative). Excited to share it with you (hopefully tomorrow). Oh and in case you didn’t know, next week is WWDC, so we’re going to find out all that Apple has in store for us, in terms of the new iOS and macOS, etc. That will be my focus next week, so stay tuned as I break things down for you — the good, the bad, and… more Apple Intelligence 🥴?
Subscribe to the YouTube channel if you haven’t already, as I’ll be posting shorts there throughout the week, plus I may even do a live stream. Also come find me on Twitter & Instagram.
Aight, check out the YouTube vid and let me run a rhyme,
And put your car on cruise and lay back 'cause this is summertime 🎶
Love,
Jay Kaslo
